Grimstroke vs Hoodwink

How this matchup plays

Landing Soulbind on Hoodwink shuts down her primary escape plan. She relies on Scurry to weave through trees and break line of sight, but Grimstroke's leash is often too long for her to snap by running. This makes her an easy target for any single-target spell from his allies, which will then get duplicated. Grimstroke can also use Stroke of Fate to reveal her position and slow her down as she tries to reposition, or use Phantom's Embrace to force her to stop and deal with the silence instead of running away. His kit is just generally good at holding a slippery target in place.

The matchup often comes down to who gets the jump. A good Hoodwink will try to play from the edges of the fight, using her range and tree cover to land a Bushwhack without ever getting into Grimstroke's initiation range. Grimstroke's team, on the other hand, wants to force a direct engagement where he can land his ultimate. His advantage is slight because if he misses that initial lockdown, Hoodwink can still be very difficult to catch. But if he connects, her mobility means very little and she's usually the first to die.
