Grimstroke vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Controlling the pace of the game often comes down to which of these two heroes gets the jump, as neither can reliably shut down the other's core plan. Legion Commander wants to build a lead by winning Duels, but Grimstroke is excellent at disrupting those attempts. A well-timed Soulbind on Legion Commander as she initiates can completely backfire, allowing her Duel target to be saved by a spell meant for another hero. On the other hand, Phantom's Embrace, a key setup tool for Grimstroke, is easily removed by Legion Commander's Press the Attack, making it hard for him to lock her down for his team.

This constant trade of key spells dictates the flow of the match. Legion Commander will try to find pickoffs away from Grimstroke's team or wait for Soulbind to be on cooldown before committing to a Duel.
