How this matchup plays

Thinking Soulbind is a free kill on Mirana is a common trap. While it does leash her and prevent a full escape with Leap, it doesn't stop her from creating some initial space or moving within the tether range. The real threat from Grimstroke comes when he layers his silence or has a teammate ready to follow up instantly. This is the same reason they work so well on the same team: Grimstroke provides the setup for an easy Arrow. As opponents, however, the sequence is much less guaranteed. Grimstroke has the tools to hold her down, but a quick Mirana can make it very awkward.

The laning phase often involves Grimstroke trying to bully with Stroke of Fate, while Mirana uses Leap to dodge and look for an opening to land a Sacred Arrow. Later on, it's a battle of initiation. Mirana can use Moonlight Shadow to find and burst a support Grimstroke before he can react. In response, Grimstroke wants to stay with his team, hoping to catch Mirana mid-Leap with his ultimate, turning her escape attempt into a double kill opportunity for his own cores. The fight is often decided by which hero gets to dictate the engagement first.
