Grimstroke vs Puck

How this matchup plays

Picking Puck into a Grimstroke is a choice that fundamentally changes how you have to play the game. Puck's entire kit is built around being elusive with spells like Illusory Orb and Phase Shift, but Grimstroke has the perfect tools to shut that down. Phantom's Embrace is a targeted silence that will follow Puck through any attempt to juke, forcing out key spells just to survive. If it latches, Puck is a sitting duck. Soulbind is even worse, as it punishes Puck for trying to escape by dragging a teammate along or leaving them tethered and helpless.

Throughout the game, this dynamic puts all the pressure on the Puck player. Instead of confidently initiating fights with Dream Coil, Puck has to play from the edges, constantly worried about Grimstroke's lockdown. The usual high-tempo, in-and-out playstyle becomes incredibly risky. This often forces Puck to buy a Black King Bar or Linken's Sphere much earlier than preferred, delaying core damage items and slowing down their impact. All the while, Grimstroke can simply wait patiently for Puck to show up before committing a single spell.
