Grimstroke vs Riki

How this matchup plays

Riki’s plan to Blink Strike onto a support often puts him right next to another enemy, creating a perfect setup for Soulbind. Once leashed, Riki is in serious trouble, as any single-target spells used on his initial target are duplicated onto him. On the other hand, Riki's Smoke Screen is a nightmare for Grimstroke, silencing him and making it impossible for him or his allies to land spells or attacks. A skilled Riki can also use Tricks of the Trade to dodge the Phantom's Embrace projectile, completely avoiding the spell.

A lone Grimstroke is an easy kill for Riki, so the Grimstroke player must position carefully with their team and maintain good vision. Later teamfights become a test of patience and positioning for both heroes. Grimstroke needs to hold his ultimate until Riki commits, while the Riki player is constantly looking for a flank or an opening to jump Grimstroke before he can react. It’s a tense standoff where the first hero to successfully execute their plan usually wins the fight for their team.
