Grimstroke vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Picking Grimstroke into a Wraith King forces you to think carefully about how you'll use your ultimate all game. Grimstroke’s whole plan revolves around disabling a key hero and linking them with Soulbind for a big burst. Wraith King completely short-circuits this by simply dying and coming back with Reincarnation. Committing your biggest spells to kill him the first time means they're all on cooldown when he stands back up, often right in the middle of your team.

This dynamic makes teamfights awkward for Grimstroke. The obvious choice is to try and ignore Wraith King and instead use Soulbind on his supports or another core. This is much harder to execute when Wraith King is walking straight at your team, forcing you to react to him. Meanwhile, the Wraith King player can frontline with more confidence, knowing Grimstroke's ultimate is far less threatening to him than to almost any other carry. The pressure is on Grimstroke to find the perfect angle while Wraith King gets to play his standard game.
