Grimstroke vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Losing control of the map happens fast when your pickoffs get turned against you. Grimstroke’s Soulbind fundamentally breaks how Slark wants to play, turning his solo hunt into a dangerous two-versus-one. Instead of bursting a lone support, Slark finds himself tethered to a second enemy, and any disables his team uses on the first target will now hit him as well. A well-timed Dark Pact can’t save him from being chain-stunned by spells he never saw coming. This completely neutralizes Slark's slippery nature, as trying to isolate a kill often leads directly to his own death when Grimstroke is nearby.

This dynamic forces the Slark to play reactively all game. He can't find the aggressive pickoffs needed to snowball his Essence Shift stacks, so his farm and overall impact suffer greatly. The Grimstroke team can confidently take map control, knowing their opponent's primary initiator is defanged. For the Slark player, it becomes a frustrating game of trying to bait out Soulbind or waiting for a perfect fight where his team can instantly break the leash. More often than not, he’s caught, controlled, and eliminated before he can contribute.
