Grimstroke vs Spirit Breaker

How this matchup plays

Charging a hero as Spirit Breaker can feel like a guaranteed kill, but that assumption falls apart against Grimstroke. An attempt to gank one of Grimstroke's allies often turns into a trap. A well-timed Ink Swell placed on the charge target will stun Spirit Breaker the moment he arrives, stopping the gank entirely. If he still gets on top of someone, a follow-up Phantom's Embrace can leave him silenced and unable to use his other abilities to secure the kill or escape. These reactive spells completely disrupt his straightforward game plan.

The dynamic then becomes a tense game of positioning. While Grimstroke is excellent at protecting his team, he himself is a perfect target for a Charge of Darkness. He's fragile and has no innate escape, meaning if Spirit Breaker can find him alone, he's an easy kill. This forces the Grimstroke to play defensively from the fog, always ready to save an ally. The Spirit Breaker will often try to bypass the protected cores and instead hunt for Grimstroke first, knowing that removing him from the fight lets him run free.
