Grimstroke vs Undying

How this matchup plays

Fighting into a well-placed Tombstone can feel impossible, but Grimstroke has some of the best tools for managing it from a safe distance. A single Stroke of Fate can clear out a huge chunk of zombies, denying Undying the vision and damage they provide. The Phantom's Embrace silence is also a decent way to stop Undying from casting his spells in a key moment. The issue for Grimstroke is that those same Tombstone zombies are perfect for quickly destroying the phantom, freeing Undying from the silence. This turns many interactions into a direct trade of cooldowns.

The lane often becomes a long-range battle of attrition. Grimstroke uses his spells to keep Undying from getting on top of his carry, while Undying looks for any chance to land Decay and establish lane dominance. In larger teamfights, the outcome depends on whose ultimate has more impact. If Undying gets a good Flesh Golem transformation and a Tombstone down in the middle of everyone, it's hard for Grimstroke to have much say. But a good Soulbind from Grimstroke can catch the tanky Undying and his carry, turning their own aggression against them.
