Grimstroke vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to skirmish on the edge of a fight is a nightmare for Weaver. His entire kit is based on being slippery with Shukuchi and having a reset button with Time Lapse. Grimstroke's abilities directly counter both. A single Phantom's Embrace silences Weaver, preventing him from using either escape and leaving him vulnerable. Soulbind is even more punishing. The leash is not broken by Time Lapse, so Weaver can't rewind to safety. He's stuck to an ally, sharing any stuns or nukes thrown their way, which a hero that fragile rarely survives.

This forces Weaver to play an entirely different game. He can't weave in and out of combat to apply pressure; instead, he has to wait on the sidelines until Grimstroke commits his spells, which often means the fight is already decided. The Grimstroke player's objective is simple: wait for Weaver to show up near any other enemy hero and use Soulbind for an easy kill. Weaver can buy items to dispel the silence from Phantom's Embrace, but that doesn't solve the core problem of Soulbind completely negating his ability to reposition and survive.
