Hoodwink vs Jakiro

How this matchup plays

Thinking you can zone Hoodwink with area-of-effect spells often backfires. Jakiro's entire kit is based on slow-moving projectiles and telegraphed ground effects like Ice Path and Macropyre. A mobile hero like Hoodwink can easily sidestep these abilities using Scurry to reposition through trees. Her own lockdown, Bushwhack, is much more effective against a slow, poor-turning target like Jakiro. He has to commit to long cast animations, which leaves him vulnerable to being stunned and burst down from a distance. The fundamental mismatch is that one hero is slow and predictable, while the other is fast and reactive.

This dynamic defines the matchup from the start. In lane, Jakiro might get some harass in, but Hoodwink can usually dodge the worst of it and trade back from the treeline. Later on, Jakiro wants to control teamfights by locking down a zone with his ultimate. Hoodwink doesn't need to stand in that zone. She prefers to play on the fringes, looking for a clean shot with Sharpshooter on a high-value target—and the slow-casting Jakiro is often that target. For Jakiro to succeed, his team needs to force fights in open ground away from trees, pinning her down before he commits his spells.
