Hoodwink vs Kez

How this matchup plays

Closing the gap on Hoodwink is a real problem for a melee hero like Kez. Hoodwink has all the tools to kite and control the engagement distance. A well-placed Bushwhack can root Kez in place, often from the fog of war, preventing him from ever starting his dueling sequence. Even if he gets close, Hoodwink can use Scurry to quickly reposition near trees and create more space. This forces Kez into a frustrating chase where he takes damage without being able to connect and use his own stance-swapping abilities effectively.

Throughout the game, this dynamic means Kez has a hard time farming safely or finding solo pickoffs. Hoodwink can constantly threaten him from the treeline, setting up kills for her team that slow down his item progression. Kez’s best bet is to wait for Hoodwink to overextend away from trees or to have an ally lock her down first. If he can get on top of her without being rooted, his high damage can burst her down, but the fight usually happens on Hoodwink’s terms, which gives her a consistent, if small, advantage.
