Getting caught by an X Marks the Spot is often a death sentence for Hoodwink. Her entire defensive plan revolves around mobility and tree-walking with Scurry, but Kunkka’s lockdown completely bypasses this by pulling her back to a fixed point. This allows him to land a full Torrent and Tidebringer combo without any trouble. However, Hoodwink isn't helpless. A well-timed Bushwhack can stop Kunkka from getting close enough to cast his spells, rooting him in place for a counter-attack. The matchup often boils down to this direct clash between her elusive movement and his reliable catch.

This tension plays out across the entire game. In teamfights, Hoodwink wants to stay hidden on the edges, using her range and Acorn Shot to deal damage safely.
