Hoodwink vs Muerta

How this matchup plays

Activating Pierce the Veil makes Muerta immune to physical damage, but it also paints a target on her back for Hoodwink's Sharpshooter. Muerta is a fairly stationary hero who struggles to chase down a slippery Hoodwink zipping through trees with Scurry. This positioning near trees also gives Hoodwink passive evasion against Muerta's regular attacks. The dynamic can feel one-sided, as Muerta's own desire to play near trees for Dead Shot ricochets leaves her vulnerable to getting caught by a well-placed Bushwhack.

This forces Muerta to play cautiously through the mid-game, as a surprise stun from the trees into a full Sharpshooter channel is often lethal. Muerta’s objective becomes surviving this period to get a Black King Bar, which negates Hoodwink’s magical burst and lets her control fights with The Calling. Hoodwink has an edge as long as she can apply pressure during that timing. If Muerta gets her core items and can close the distance, she can often win a straight fight before Hoodwink gets her full combo off.
