Hoodwink vs Necrophos

How this matchup plays

Trying to burst down Necrophos is a frustrating experience for Hoodwink. Her entire combo of Bushwhack and Acorn Shot relies on killing a target quickly, but Necrophos is designed to survive exactly that. Once he takes initial damage, he can pop Ghost Shroud to amplify his own healing. A single Death Pulse then restores a huge chunk of the health she just removed, often turning the gank completely around. His Heartstopper Aura also constantly drains her health, making it risky for her to even be in the same area. She lacks the sustained damage to fight through his regeneration.

This dynamic makes teamfights difficult. Hoodwink wants to play on the edges and pick off a target, but Necrophos creates a large, dangerous zone that she can't operate in effectively. If she commits her ultimate, Sharpshooter, on him, he can often heal through it unless he's already heavily controlled by her team. Necrophos, meanwhile, can simply march forward. He forces Hoodwink to reposition constantly and makes it easy for his own team to find and kill her while she's trying to find a safe angle to play from.
