Hoodwink vs Shadow Fiend

How this matchup plays

Interrupting Requiem of Souls from the treeline is the main story here. Shadow Fiend relies on his ultimate to turn teamfights, but Hoodwink’s Bushwhack is a perfect tool to cancel the channel from a safe distance. This forces him to either get a jump on her or wait for her to use the spell on someone else. Additionally, Shadow Fiend is quite fragile for much of the game and plays without an innate escape. This makes him a prime target for a fully-charged Sharpshooter out of the fog, forcing him to play more cautiously and potentially slowing down his farm.

The game becomes a race against the clock. Hoodwink’s goal is to use her control and mobility to constantly gank and disrupt Shadow Fiend, delaying his item progression. By keeping him poor and on the defensive, she prevents him from reaching his powerful mid-game timing. Shadow Fiend’s win condition is to survive this pressure, accelerate his farm, and secure a Black King Bar. Once he has spell immunity, he can ignore Hoodwink's stuns and freely cast his spells, allowing his superior damage output to take over fights. The result often depends on which hero executes their plan first.
