Hoodwink vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Trying to get away from an Ogre Magi is frustrating for a hero like Hoodwink. She relies on Scurry to quickly reposition or escape through trees, but Ogre’s Ignite slows her down, making it much harder to create that separation. This gives him or his allies time to close the gap. Ogre's high health and armor also mean he can typically absorb Hoodwink's full Acorn Shot and Sharpshooter combination and still be standing, ready to stun her with a Fireblast. He doesn't need to kill her himself; he just needs to hold her in place.

This plays out from the very start of the game, where Ogre's tankiness lets him trade hits without fear. Later, Hoodwink has to be very careful with her positioning. She can’t stand and fight Ogre Magi directly, so her goal becomes baiting his spells and using Bushwhack to control him from a distance. Ogre's main limitation is that he has to walk up to her to be a threat. If Hoodwink can keep her distance and play from the trees, she can mitigate his impact, which is why the matchup isn't completely one-sided.
