Hoodwink vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against one another feels like a stalemate because both heroes are incredibly slippery. Hoodwink wants to play around trees for Scurry and to set up her Bushwhack, but Pangolier's Swashbuckle lets him dash through open ground and his Shield Crash can even hop him over treelines, disrupting her positioning. Hoodwink's root from Bushwhack is a great tool for locking a target down, but Pangolier is often mobile enough to escape the area before it activates. Even if caught, he isn't stunned and can still retaliate. The break from Sharpshooter is a real threat to Pangolier's durability, but landing it is a challenge.

This means their interactions are usually decided by positioning and timing rather than a built-in advantage. In fights, Hoodwink will try to stay hidden to land a surprise Bushwhack and initiate for her team. Pangolier, in response, has to play carefully, anticipating where Hoodwink might be and keeping Rolling Thunder ready to become spell immune and escape or turn the fight. Neither hero can reliably solo kill the other without a significant mistake, so it often comes down to which one's team can better follow up on their specific brand of disruption.
