Hoodwink vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Jumping on Hoodwink with a Hookshot seems like a clean kill, but the reality is more complicated. Clockwerk wants to get in close and trap her with Power Cogs and Battery Assault, but Hoodwink’s entire kit is built around playing near trees, which are everywhere. A good Bushwhack can stop Clockwerk's assault cold, stunning him long enough for her to Scurry away to safety. Even Power Cogs can sometimes help her by pushing her out of the trap and creating the space she needs to escape. Clockwerk has to find her isolated from any trees to guarantee a kill.

The matchup often comes down to vision and positioning. Clockwerk can use Rocket Flare to scout tree lines, preventing Hoodwink from getting the jump or setting up a good defensive position. In teamfights, if Clockwerk can catch her out of position, she dies quickly. But if Hoodwink is prepared and near her escape routes, she can bait the initiation, turn it around with a stun, and let her team collapse on the overextended Clockwerk. It’s a constant cat-and-mouse game where a single misstep from either hero decides the fight.
