Hoodwink vs Sand King

How this matchup plays

Catching Hoodwink with a Burrowstrike often comes down to timing and vision. Her Scurry lets her dodge the stun if she sees it coming, and she can easily stay near trees to threaten a Bushwhack stun of her own. This is especially disruptive against Sand King's Epicenter, which she can cancel from a safe distance before he even gets close. On the other hand, Sand King’s Sand Storm deals damage in a wide area, making it difficult for Hoodwink to rely on tree-walking to escape once she's been found. Each hero has the right tool to counter the other's main plan.

This creates a constant duel of initiation across the map. A Sand King with a Blink Dagger is a major threat, able to jump on Hoodwink from the fog. In response, Hoodwink has to play carefully around her trees, using vision to stay one step ahead and prepare her own disable. Fights often hinge on who acts first. If Sand King lands his stun, Hoodwink is fragile and usually dies. But if Hoodwink can land a Bushwhack before he gets his spells off, his whole initiation falls flat. It rarely feels one-sided for very long.
