Hoodwink vs Slark

How this matchup plays

Picking Slark into Hoodwink, or vice versa, often comes down to a single crucial interaction. Slark’s ability to purge debuffs with Dark Pact means he can shrug off Hoodwink's Bushwhack stun. This denies her the setup she needs to land her Sharpshooter combo or to simply escape once he’s on top of her with Pounce. Hoodwink has to rely entirely on her Scurry passive to juke and survive, using trees to break vision and hopefully outmaneuver him. It becomes a game of timing his dispel against her stun.

During a match, Slark will actively look for an isolated Hoodwink to pick off, knowing he has the advantage in a straight duel. He can build Essence Shift stacks and run her down. Hoodwink’s response is to avoid these situations by playing near her team and using her superior range and vision from the trees. Her job is to stay on the edges of a fight, landing a stun on a different target and using Acorn Shot for damage and slows. The outcome really depends on who gets caught out of position first.
