Hoodwink vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Seeing Viper's Nethertoxin on the field might seem like an automatic loss for a hero so dependent on passives and mobility. While that ability does shut down Scurry's evasion completely, the dynamic isn't so simple. Hoodwink has a significant range advantage with all of her spells. She can poke with Acorn Shot and set up stuns from well outside the area Viper wants to control. Viper has to walk into danger to apply his damage and break, whereas Hoodwink is most effective when she's far away from the fight, which makes for a tense standoff.

The whole matchup becomes a game of cat and mouse over positioning. If Viper manages to close the distance or catches Hoodwink in the open with Viper Strike, she has almost no way to survive his constant slows and damage. On the other hand, a well-placed Bushwhack from the trees leaves the slow-moving Viper completely helpless. He has no escape mechanism and becomes an easy target for a fully charged Sharpshooter. Victory for either hero depends entirely on who gets the jump and dictates the engagement.
