Jakiro vs Keeper of the Light

How this matchup plays

Fighting into a Keeper of the Light is rough for Jakiro because their kits work directly against each other. Jakiro wants to lock an area down with Ice Path and Macropyre, but a single cast of Blinding Light from Keeper of the Light knocks everyone out of those spells, completely wasting the combo. The setup time on Jakiro's spells gives plenty of time to react. This core conflict is so fundamental that they even have trouble on the same team, as an allied Blinding Light can easily ruin a friendly Macropyre.

This pattern starts in the lane, where Illuminate's long range and wave-clearing power keep Jakiro on the defensive, unable to trade effectively. Later, Jakiro is forced into an awkward position during teamfights. He either has to wait for someone else to bait out Blinding Light, or he needs to find a way to jump on Keeper of the Light from the fog before he can react. This makes Jakiro’s game plan unreliable, while KotL can safely control the fight from the back lines and consistently shut down his enemy’s biggest spells.
