How this matchup plays

Catching a slow hero like Jakiro is what Kunkka's kit is built to do. Jakiro has long cast animations on key spells like Ice Path and Macropyre, giving Kunkka a clear window to interrupt them with Torrent. Jakiro's low movement speed and turn rate also make him a reliable target for Kunkka’s Ghostship and Tidebringer cleaves. While Jakiro can put out a lot of area-of-effect damage, he struggles to dodge or reposition once Kunkka commits, making him vulnerable to being bursted down before his spells have a lasting impact.

This advantage for Kunkka becomes more apparent after the laning stage. Early on, Jakiro can often trade effectively using Dual Breath's attack slow. As the game progresses, however, Kunkka's combo becomes a serious threat that forces Jakiro to play from the very back of a fight. He has to position perfectly to contribute without being caught by X Marks the Spot. Kunkka can be more proactive in starting fights on his terms, while Jakiro is often relegated to a more reactive role, which explains the slight edge.
