Jakiro vs Lina

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a combo as Jakiro feels a bit clumsy against a mobile hero. All of Jakiro's spells have noticeable cast times, especially Ice Path. This gives Lina a window to react, either by interrupting him with Light Strike Array or by simply sidestepping the effect with her high movement speed. Because Jakiro is naturally slow and doesn't build mobility items, he's a very inviting target for her. Lina’s burst from Laguna Blade is often enough to delete him before he can contribute his spells, especially if she catches him slightly out of position.

This dynamic really comes alive in the mid game. While Jakiro can be a strong lane harasser, Lina starts to take over once she gets a few levels and items. Jakiro wants to place a big Macropyre in a teamfight, but that requires him to get into a potentially dangerous spot. A good Lina will look for him on the edges of the fight and try to pick him off before he can get his spells down. For Jakiro to have an impact, he needs his team to initiate first or has to play carefully from fog to get the jump on her instead.
