Jakiro vs Muerta

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a full combo on Muerta can be frustrating for Jakiro. His spells like Ice Path and Macropyre are slow to cast and easy to walk away from, while she can often fight back effectively from a distance. The main issue is The Calling, which can silence Jakiro right as he's trying to get his spells off. This prevents him from exploiting the magic damage vulnerability Muerta has during her ultimate. Instead of getting to punish her, he's often the one getting burst down by her empowered attacks before he can contribute much.

This matchup often comes down to who gets the jump on whom. If Muerta catches Jakiro out of position, her silence and high damage output will almost always secure the kill. A Jakiro player has to play carefully, staying behind his team and waiting for someone else to lock Muerta down. If his team can hold her in place, especially during Pierce the Veil, Jakiro's sustained magic damage can melt her. Still, Muerta generally has more agency to force the fight she wants, giving her a small but consistent advantage.
