Jakiro vs Pangolier

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a clean Ice Path on a good Pangolier can feel like a waste of mana. Jakiro’s entire kit relies on enemies being caught in slow, telegraphed spells that control a specific line or area. Pangolier is built from the ground up to defeat exactly that. He can Swashbuckle out of the way of an incoming spell, and his Rolling Thunder makes him an impossible target to lock down while he disrupts your team. It’s hard for Jakiro to contribute his usual high damage and control when his primary target can simply dash away or roll right through his best setup.

This dynamic gets worse for Jakiro in teamfights. He wants to find a good position to cast Macropyre and lock down a choke point, but Pangolier doesn't care about choke points. He’ll initiate with his ultimate from an unexpected angle, often stunning Jakiro before he can even get his full combo off. The best a Jakiro player can do is wait for a teammate to stun Pangolier first, which is unreliable. Meanwhile, Pangolier is free to play his own game, creating a chaotic fight that Jakiro is poorly equipped to handle.
