Jakiro vs Phoenix

How this matchup plays

Teamfights often come down to a crucial Supernova, and Jakiro is one of the worst heroes imaginable for dealing with it. His damage is almost entirely dealt over time, and his right-clicks are too slow to break the egg before it explodes. Phoenix can also easily use Icarus Dive to fly over Macropyre or dodge an Ice Path, making it very difficult for Jakiro to land his most impactful spells. The fundamental mobility difference means Phoenix can choose when and how to engage, while Jakiro is often left reacting too slowly.

This dynamic puts all the pressure on Jakiro's teammates. Throughout the game, Phoenix can play aggressively, knowing that Jakiro alone poses no threat to a committed Supernova. If Jakiro tries to set up a fight with his spells, Phoenix can simply escape or counter-initiate, resetting the engagement on his own terms. Jakiro is forced to play from behind, hoping his allies have the burst damage needed to handle the egg, because he certainly doesn't bring it himself.
