Jakiro vs Clockwerk

How this matchup plays

Getting caught by a Hookshot is often a death sentence for Jakiro. Clockwerk can isolate the slow-moving dragon, and the continuous ministuns from Battery Assault are perfect for interrupting Jakiro’s long cast animations. Before an Ice Path or Macropyre can even start, Jakiro is usually already chain-stunned and trapped inside Power Cogs with his mana getting burned away. Without a natural escape and with a poor turn rate, it's very difficult for Jakiro to react in time once Clockwerk decides to initiate on him.

This advantage is far from guaranteed, though. In the laning phase, Jakiro can make it difficult for a melee Clockwerk to get near the creeps. In teamfights, if Clockwerk catches a different hero, Jakiro can punish the play by layering his spells on top of the Power Cogs, turning the initiation into a trap for Clockwerk's team. A well-positioned Jakiro playing behind his cores and holding a Force Staff can often survive the initial jump, making it much harder for Clockwerk to find a clean kill.
