Expecting Jakiro's control to shut down Sand King often leads to disappointment because their spell timings are mismatched. Ice Path has a cast delay and travel time, giving an alert Sand King a window to either Burrowstrike away or stun Jakiro first. Even if Jakiro lands his spells, Sand Storm offers an easy way to dodge damage and wait out debuffs. Fundamentally, Sand King's initiation is instant while Jakiro's control is delayed. This means their interactions are less about one countering the other and more about who gets the jump from fog of war.

In practice, the outcome of any engagement between them depends heavily on positioning. A Sand King who successfully channels Epicenter on top of Jakiro will almost always secure a kill due to Jakiro's low mobility. Conversely, a pre-emptive Ice Path can cancel the channel and leave Sand King vulnerable.
