Jakiro vs Vengeful Spirit

How this matchup plays

Controlling the map against a Vengeful Spirit is a constant struggle. Her ability to set up kills is more reliable than what Jakiro offers. Vengeful Spirit has a targeted stun with Magic Missile, which immediately locks down a hero for her team to collapse on. Jakiro has to rely on the delayed Ice Path, which is much easier to avoid. The real problem, however, is Nether Swap. This ultimate completely undermines Jakiro's game plan of using careful positioning to cast Macropyre and his other AoE spells. Vengeful Spirit can instantly pull him into danger or save an ally caught in his fire and ice.

This dynamic means Vengeful Spirit's team is often on the front foot, looking for pickoffs and pushing their advantage. Jakiro is frequently the primary target for a Nether Swap, forcing him to play from extremely safe distances and limiting his impact. While Jakiro's spells can be powerful when they land, Vengeful Spirit makes it incredibly difficult for him to find the right position to cast them. His team has to expend significant resources protecting him, whereas Vengeful Spirit's team is free to play aggressively and hunt for isolated heroes.
