Jakiro vs Weaver

How this matchup plays

Trying to lock down Weaver is a huge problem for Jakiro. Most of Jakiro’s spells are slow and telegraphed, giving Weaver a window to dodge with Shukuchi. Even if a full combo of spells connects, Time Lapse can often negate the damage-over-time from Dual Breath and Macropyre, letting Weaver reset the engagement. This makes it incredibly difficult for Jakiro to secure a kill on his own. The reverse is also true, however. Weaver is fragile, and a single well-placed Ice Path is usually a death sentence if it lands. This forces a tense standoff where a single misstep from either hero can be fatal.

The dynamic shifts from individual duels to area control as the game progresses. Jakiro’s goal isn’t necessarily to kill Weaver directly, but to use his spells to zone him out of teamfights, forcing him into bad positions or out of the fight entirely. A good Macropyre can completely wall off the back line that Weaver wants to attack. In response, Weaver has to play patiently on the edges of the fight, waiting for Jakiro to commit his long cooldowns before going in. The fight often comes down to which hero’s team better enables their strategy.
