Keeper of the Light vs Kez

How this matchup plays

Fighting into a Keeper of the Light is a nightmare for a melee duelist like Kez. His entire game plan is to get on top of a target and stay there, but Blinding Light completely denies this. It shoves him back, ruins his positioning, and makes his attacks miss, gutting his damage output. Kez's parry tools are meant for direct attacks, which does nothing to stop the area-of-effect pushback from Blinding Light. Meanwhile, KotL can safely pressure from a screen away with Illuminate, chipping away at Kez before a fight even starts. Kez simply can't close the gap and stick on his target.

This dynamic defines the game from the start. In lane, Keeper of the Light can constantly shove the wave, forcing Kez to farm under tower and making him an easy gank target. Later on, Kez has to commit a Black King Bar just to have a chance of reaching the back lines, but even then KotL can kite him or recall a teammate who gets jumped. Kez is forced into an awkward position of needing to wait out key spells, while KotL dictates the spacing of every engagement. The fundamental problem is that creating distance is always bad for Kez.
