Keeper of the Light vs Phoenix

How this matchup plays

Trying to take down Phoenix's Supernova, Keeper of the Light has a great tool in Illuminate. A fully charged blast from the back lines can take a huge portion of the egg's health, making it much easier for his team to finish off. However, Phoenix can make this difficult. A well-placed Supernova behind a wall or on high ground can force Keeper of the Light to expose himself to hit it. Also, pre-casting Fire Spirits on enemy cores slows their attacks against the egg, buying critical time for Phoenix to be reborn.

During the laning phase, these two rarely interact directly, both content to clear waves from a safe distance. Late-game fights become a game of positioning and cooldowns. Phoenix will often use Icarus Dive to bait out spells or find a safe spot to use Supernova, ideally when Illuminate has just been used on something else. Keeper of the Light plays the same game, holding his channel and waiting for the egg to appear. Fights often swing based on which of these two gets the better setup and timing.
