Keeper of the Light vs Sand King

How this matchup plays

Seeing a Sand King channel Sand Storm, it's tempting to think Keeper of the Light has an easy answer with Blinding Light. The reality is a tense timing game. Sand King can wait inside his storm, baiting out the spell before using Burrowstrike on a better target. He can also initiate on Keeper of the Light directly during a long Illuminate channel, completely turning the tables. Likewise, a quick Mana Leak can leave SK without the resources to escape after his combo. The interaction isn't a simple counter, but a duel of cooldowns and reactions.

This dynamic defines the whole game. Early on, Keeper of the Light can make laning miserable, shoving waves and denying farm. Once Sand King gets a Blink Dagger, however, the threat flips and any out-of-position channeling becomes a death sentence. In later teamfights, it all comes down to vision and positioning. A protected KotL can ruin an Epicenter from a safe distance, while an exposed one is the first target for SK's initiation. Neither hero has a clear, default advantage here.
