Keeper of the Light vs Wraith King

How this matchup plays

Trading blows with Keeper of the Light often comes down to Wraith King's mana bar. Mana Leak is a constant threat, potentially draining enough mana to prevent him from using Reincarnation, his most important ability. This gives Keeper of the Light's team a clear way to bring him down for good. At the same time, KotL is extremely fragile and lacks a reliable escape. If Wraith King can get close enough to land a Wraithfire Blast, especially with a teammate's help, KotL will likely die before he can react. Blinding Light can create some space, but it's not always enough to stop a determined assault.

The dynamic creates a race. In lane, Keeper of the Light can use Illuminate to constantly pressure the tower and keep Wraith King busy, slowing his farm. If KotL successfully starves him of mana and gold, his team gains a major advantage. But if Wraith King survives the early game and secures items that solve his mana issues or grant mobility, the tables turn. He can then ignore KotL's harass, close the distance, and become a major threat that the old man can no longer control or run from.
