Trying to follow up on a Golem drop against Keeper of the Light is often frustrating. Warlock wants his team to commit to a fight after he lands his ultimate, but a single cast of Blinding Light can shove everyone away from the Golem and make them miss their attacks. This buys crucial time for KOTL's team to reposition or turn the fight. Keeper of the Light also excels at clearing creep waves and summoned units from a safe distance with Illuminate. This constant, long-range pressure makes it difficult for Warlock's team to group up and use the Golem to take towers or barracks.

Across the game, the dynamic revolves around Warlock trying to find a clean initiation. His ideal scenario is catching Keeper of the Light himself in the Chaotic Offering stun, preventing any counter-play. In response, KOTL positions far back, using his team as a screen while he constantly shoves lanes. This forces Warlock's team into an awkward choice: either split up to deal with the map pressure, or try to force a fight into a well-defended position where KOTL is ready to disrupt their follow-up. The advantage isn't huge, but KOTL's kit gives him more tools to directly undermine Warlock's game plan.
