How this matchup plays

Trying to duel Pangolier is a frustrating experience for Kez. Swashbuckle makes it difficult to land consistent attacks or time a parry, as Pangolier is constantly moving and can strike from unexpected angles. However, Pangolier has to respect Kez's damage. If Kez catches him without his defensive abilities or Rolling Thunder available, the duel can end very quickly. This creates a cat-and-mouse dynamic where Pangolier wants to poke and wear Kez down, while Kez is looking for one clean opening to commit and secure a kill. Neither can force a fight without risk.

As the game progresses, this standoff often leads to both heroes avoiding direct confrontation. Pangolier will typically focus on clearing waves across the map to build his advantage, using his mobility to stay safe. Kez, in turn, will concentrate on his own farm to reach his core items.
