How this matchup plays

Farming anywhere on the map feels dangerous for Kez because Slardar is a natural predator for him. Kez relies on his parry mechanics to win duels and survive burst, but Slardar's kit sidesteps this completely. Slithereen Crush is an area-of-effect stun that can't be blocked by facing a certain direction, and Corrosive Haze is an instant-cast debuff that shreds armor. A hero like Kez, who depends on high agility for his armor, becomes incredibly fragile once that ultimate is on him. Slardar doesn't need to out-duel Kez; he can simply run at him, stun him, and remove all his physical defense before Kez can mount a response.

This dynamic forces Kez to play reactively from the moment Slardar gets his ultimate. Instead of split-pushing and looking for pickoffs, Kez has to stick with his team for protection, which severely slows down his farm and delays his core items. Meanwhile, Slardar can confidently lead the charge for his own team, knowing the enemy carry is always on the back foot. This allows Slardar's team to control the map, secure Roshan with the help of Haze, and generally dictate the pace of the mid-game before Kez can become a real threat.
