How this matchup plays

A drawn-out duel almost always ends with Slark on top. Kez is a specialist at one-on-one combat, relying on parries and landing his combos, but Slark’s kit systematically denies him that opportunity. Dark Pact continuously purges off any initiation or debuffs Kez applies, making him impossible to lock down. Meanwhile, Essence Shift drains Kez's agility with every hit, making him progressively weaker, slower, and easier to kill. Kez wants a clean fight where he can outplay his opponent, but Slark ensures the fight is always messy and heavily stacked in his own favor from the first punch.

This advantage allows Slark to dictate the pace of the game. He can farm aggressively and pressure any lane Kez is in, knowing he wins the direct encounter and can always escape with Shadow Dance if things go wrong. This forces Kez to play defensively, unable to safely split-push or farm isolated areas of the map. Kez is pressured into grouping with his team much earlier than he'd like, sacrificing critical farm and timings. His main goal becomes avoiding Slark entirely until he can get items that provide instant lockdown, while Slark's goal is to hunt him down and keep him poor.
