How this matchup plays

Getting charged from across the map creates a huge problem for a duelist like Kez. His kit is built for predictable, head-on fights where he can use stances and parry abilities to outplay an opponent. Spirit Breaker completely ignores this dynamic. Charge of Darkness provides unavoidable, long-range initiation that's difficult to react to. Even if Kez survives the initial impact, Spirit Breaker can follow up with Nether Strike, preventing any counter-attack. The constant threat of Greater Bash also means Kez can't reliably trade hits, as he's likely to be stunned before he can react.

This pressure defines the whole game. Spirit Breaker makes it nearly impossible for Kez to farm safely in any lane during the mid-game, severely delaying his core items. In later teamfights, Spirit Breaker's role simplifies to finding Kez and holding him down with stuns so the team can finish the job. Kez is forced into buying early defensive items he might not want or relying entirely on his supports for saves, while Spirit Breaker can build whatever he needs to be a durable nuisance.
