Kez vs Viper

How this matchup plays

Trying to use a parry against Viper's damage is often a losing battle for Kez. A well-timed defensive stance can negate a single big spell, but it does little to stop the constant health drain from Poison Attack and Viper Strike. The damage isn't a single instance to be reflected; it's a steady, ticking debuff applied from range. Viper can also create zones with Nethertoxin that apply break, disabling some of Kez's core passives and making it even harder for the duelist to engage on his own terms. This fundamental mismatch gives Viper a natural way to poke and harass without offering a clear window for a counter-attack.

The matchup becomes a race of timings and execution. Kez's goal is to survive the early and mid-game, finding farm away from Viper to get the items needed to close the gap and burst him down. A Black King Bar, for instance, can completely negate Viper's threat for its duration. If Viper and his team can successfully pressure Kez and slow his farm, they can control the game. But if Kez gets the space he needs, he can eventually overwhelm Viper, who has no innate escape when a farmed carry finally gets on top of him.
