How this matchup plays

Drafting Kez into a Warlock creates a classic standoff, where teamfight control clashes with single-target elimination. Warlock can completely dictate the pace of a fight against a melee hero. Upheaval makes it impossible for Kez to close gaps or escape, while Fatal Bonds punishes his team for grouping around him during a dive by spreading any incoming damage among them. Above all, the instant stun from Chaotic Offering can stop a duelist’s assault before it even begins, leaving Kez vulnerable.

The match becomes a tense game of cat and mouse. Warlock seeks to force grouped fights around objectives where his spells have maximum impact. Kez must do the opposite, encouraging his team to play spread out while he hunts for a pickoff on Warlock or another key target. Later on, Kez can build to negate most of Warlock's magic, but the Golem's stun always remains a primary threat he has to respect. This fundamental conflict of strategies, where either hero can triumph based on execution, leaves them on even footing.
