Kunkka vs Legion Commander

How this matchup plays

Surviving Kunkka's full boat combo is often Legion Commander's goal, not avoiding it. She is typically durable enough to take the initial hits, and using Press the Attack afterwards removes the lingering slow while providing a large heal. This allows her to recover instantly and charge back into the fight when Kunkka's main spells are on cooldown. Her own initiation, Duel, can completely isolate Kunkka, taking his area-of-effect stuns and teamfight control out of the picture for its duration. Legion Commander doesn't negate his kit, but she has the right tools to endure it and retaliate.

The matchup often comes down to who gets to execute their plan first. Kunkka wants to set up kills from afar with X Marks the Spot and his spells, controlling the engagement's timing. Legion Commander, however, is constantly looking for an opening to blink in and Duel a key target. This forces Kunkka to play cautiously, as getting caught himself means his team loses its primary setup tool. While a good Kunkka can play around this by targeting a different hero, Legion Commander’s constant pressure to start a man-fight can disrupt the tempo Kunkka needs.
