Kunkka vs Night Stalker

How this matchup plays

Setting up a perfect Torrent and Ghostship combo is how Kunkka controls a fight. Night Stalker excels at disrupting that plan. His silence, Crippling Fear, is an instant way to break Kunkka’s spell sequence, often leaving the admiral out of position and unable to use X Marks the Spot to return to safety. Night Stalker is also naturally tanky, especially at night, so even if Kunkka lands his combo, the damage often isn't enough to secure a kill. This makes him a poor primary target for Kunkka's burst.

The pressure from Night Stalker forces a change in Kunkka's game plan. Instead of being the primary initiator, Kunkka often has to play more cautiously, focusing on farming with Tidebringer and looking for opportunities to combo squishier targets from the fog. Night Stalker’s team can play with more confidence, knowing Kunkka is less of a direct threat to their frontman. The advantage is only slight because a well-farmed Kunkka can still cleave a team apart, and a single good Ghostship can still turn a fight, but finding that perfect moment is much harder when a silent predator is hunting you.
