Kunkka vs Pudge

How this matchup plays

Facing Pudge often comes down to that one critical Meat Hook. Kunkka is uniquely equipped to handle this with X Marks the Spot, which can instantly recall a hooked ally to safety before Pudge can follow up with Dismember. This interaction defines much of their duel. On the other hand, Kunkka relies on a specific spell sequence to kill targets, and a durable Pudge with high health from Flesh Heap can often survive the initial boat and torrent. If Pudge weathers that storm, his Rot and Dismember can lock Kunkka down long enough for his team to collapse.

The laning phase is a constant dance of positioning. Kunkka uses Tidebringer to control the wave and harass, but one misstep can lead to getting hooked and killed. Later in the game, Kunkka’s role often becomes saving his teammates from Pudge's initiations, while Pudge tries to pick off Kunkka himself to remove that defensive capability.
