Kunkka vs Slardar

How this matchup plays

Trying to land a perfect combo on Slardar is often a pain. His Guardian Sprint gives him the speed to dodge out of a Torrent prediction, and if he closes the distance, his own stun can interrupt whatever Kunkka is trying to set up. The bigger problem is Corrosive Haze. It makes Kunkka incredibly fragile to physical attacks, turning what should be a safe farm into a risky move. Slardar doesn't have to guess where Kunkka is once he's marked, which can make it very difficult to line up a surprise Ghostship or flank.

This all comes down to who gets the jump. Early on, Kunkka can use Tidebringer to control the lane and stay ahead in farm. But once Slardar gets his core items and starts hunting, Kunkka becomes a primary target because he's easy to find and burst down with the armor reduction. A good Kunkka player will have to position very carefully, relying on his team to create space for him to land his spells and cleaves from a safe distance. Slardar's job is to make sure that safe distance doesn't exist.
