How this matchup plays

Drafting against an Ursa often involves finding ways to keep him from sticking to his targets. Kunkka provides a reliable tool for this with X Marks the Spot. When Ursa activates Enrage and blinks onto a hero, Kunkka can simply mark him and send him back to his starting point a few seconds later. This forces Ursa's entire burst window to be wasted and can completely save an ally from what would otherwise be a certain death. The threat of this single ability can make Ursa’s primary goal of man-fighting feel very difficult to achieve.

Throughout the game, this dynamic creates a tense standoff. An Ursa player has to be much more careful about initiating, often needing to wait for Kunkka to show elsewhere or use his spell on another target. He will also prioritize items like a Black King Bar to try and negate the control. For Kunkka, the job is to stay close to his vulnerable teammates and be ready to provide the save. Because the interaction depends on Kunkka’s positioning and reaction time, and Ursa’s own item choices, the advantage is noticeable but doesn't shut the bear down completely.
