How this matchup plays

Winning a Duel against a team with Night Stalker is tricky. His area silence, Crippling Fear, can stop Legion Commander from using Press the Attack on herself, denying her the sustain and attack speed needed to secure the kill. This is especially true at night, when he's at his strongest. Night Stalker is also excellent at finding an isolated Legion Commander before she can find her own target, using his ultimate to fly over terrain and initiate from an unexpected angle. He can turn her own aggression against her.

The entire matchup often comes down to timing and vision control. Legion Commander has a clear advantage during the daytime and can use this window to force fights and build a Duel damage lead before Night Stalker comes fully online. A timely Black King Bar purchase can also completely negate his silence. If Legion Commander can snowball during the day, she's in a good spot. If the game slows down and Night Stalker gets to dictate the pace with his nighttime ganks, he can effectively shut her down.
