Legion Commander vs Ogre Magi

How this matchup plays

Trying to peel for a core against Legion Commander is where things get difficult for Ogre Magi. His primary lockdown, Ignite, is easily removed by Press the Attack, which means his ability to kite or protect an ally from a Duel is severely limited. Ogre is left with a single-target stun, which often isn't enough to save a teammate from a committed Legion, especially one who has her own dispel active. While Ogre is a durable front-liner, his kit is much better at buffing an ally with Bloodlust than it is at providing the kind of defensive save needed to counter a Blink-Duel.

This interaction allows Legion Commander to set the tempo of the mid-game. She can hunt for isolated targets, and Ogre Magi’s team is forced to play reactively and stick together to avoid giving up easy Duel kills. Legion can even target Ogre himself; he’s tanky, but his low armor and damage output make him a relatively safe Duel victim. Ogre's best bet is to try and win the lanes hard enough to slow Legion's timing, because once she's ready to fight, he doesn't have the right tools to stop her.
